I used to throw out 2 bags of trash a week, now I'm down to one small bag and it took 8 months to get there
I started tracking my trash in January just to see where it all came from, and the numbers kind of shocked me. My wife and I were putting out two full kitchen bags a week, mostly food scraps and packaging from takeout. So we set up a bin in the garage for compost and found a drop off spot at the community garden on Elm Street that takes it every Saturday. The first two months were rough, I forgot the bin existed like five times and just tossed everything in the regular can out of habit. Now we're down to one small bag a week, and about half of what's left is stuff I still can't figure out how to avoid. If you've done this, what was the hardest thing to stop throwing away?
