Rant: the guy at my town dump said my 2 bags of recycling were 'wishful thinking' and I have not stopped thinking about it
I swung by the transfer station in Bend on Saturday with 2 kitchen bags of what I thought was clean recycling, mostly yogurt cups and takeout containers. The guy working the sorting line pulled one out, held it up, and said "this is trash wearing a recycling costume" and pointed at the greasy pizza box pressed against the side. He walked me through the bin for about 90 seconds and showed me 4 things I have been getting wrong for who knows how long. I went home and checked my city's actual rules page, and he was right on every single one. Does anyone here have a system that actually works, or do I just need to accept that I have been recycling garbage into slightly different garbage?
