The $20 edge finder I laughed at now lives in my tool box

Bought a cheap knockoff edge finder off Amazon last month just to test it, figured it would wobble or snap in a day. Damn thing has been dead accurate on 40 plus setups, so now I'm wondering if I got lucky or if the expensive ones are just hype. Anyone else had a budget tool that ended up outperforming the name brand?
