Bought a $400 power trowel blade set, went back to my old ones after one pour in Tulsa

The new blades left ridges no matter how I adjusted the pitch, and my float pan did cleaner work in half the time, so what's the actual benefit of these premium sets for anyone else?

Skip the marketing hype and save your money. Those blades sound like they're made for glass-smooth floors that don't exist outside of a showroom. I've had the same thing happen with a fancy set that left a washboard finish, so I feel your pain. My cheap old blades are ugly and beat up, but they lay down a flat slab every single time. It's like buying a sports car for a dirt road, sure it looks great in the driveway, but it's useless where you actually work. If it doesn't make the pour easier or the finish better, it's just a heavier wallet and a lighter bank account. Stick with what works, and let the premium stuff sit on the shelf where it belongs.
