Slab cracked on a garage pour in Mesa and I am still mad about it

Poured a 24x30 garage slab out in Mesa on Tuesday and found a hairline crack running almost 8 feet the next morning. My saw cut was late by about two hours because the truck showed up behind schedule and I got pulled into another job. Now the homeowner is asking questions and I am stuck owning it. Anyone got a good way to explain a crack like this without sounding like I am making excuses?
