Tried a power trowel on a small slab and it wasn't worth the hassle
Ngl, I figured using my brand new Whiteman power trowel on a 10x12 patio in Denver would save me time. But the thing kept digging in on the edges and I spent more time fixing footprints than if I just hand floated the whole thing. Learning that bigger tools aren't always faster for tiny jobs. Has anyone else run into this with a power trowel on residential work?

It's funny how the tool that should make things faster ends up being the one slowing you down, isn't it.

You are exactly right. I did the same thing on a little walkway and that big machine just made a mess of the edges. Hand floating it would have taken less time and looked a lot better in the end.

Watched a neighbor try using a bull float on a tiny patio and he nearly took out his own flower bed.
