I stood in the permanent exhibit at the 9/11 Memorial in New York back in 2019 for almost three hours. Seeing the actual mangled fire truck and the staircase from the North Tower made every online thread feel abstract to me after that. I used to bounce between subreddits trading angles and timelines, but that visit grounded my skepticism in the human cost first. Does anyone else find that visiting a specific site shifts how they judge the evidence in these debates?
