Chose the cheap night vision scope over the $900 one, surprise surprise it worked fine

Everyone in the hunting forums swears you're throwing money away if you don't drop serious cash on optics. I needed a scope for coyote control on my property outside of Tulsa. The fancy one had all these features I'd never touch. So I picked the $180 model with basic IR, figured I'd use the savings for more ammo. Three months in, it's held zero through rain, mud, and a drop off the ATV. Maybe the expensive stuff is better for some, but I gotta ask, has anyone else had a budget tool just plain work and make you question the whole hype machine?

Makes me wonder why we pay double for anything with a brand sticker on it.
