A kid on my crew called a total station a "laser camera" and I had to laugh
We were laying out a foundation on a job in Boise last week and one of the new guys asked me to grab "the laser camera" from the truck. Twenty years back everyone on site knew what a gun was and how to set it up, now half my crew just trusts the app on their phone and never touches the dials. Called my old foreman about it and he said the same thing is happening at his shop in Nampa. Does anyone actually train the young guys on the manual stuff anymore, or is it GPS and auto-level from day one?
