Appreciation post: I blew off my brother's 2FA nagging for a year, then a $40 charge from a gas station in Tulsa changed my mind
My brother kept bugging me for a year to turn on two factor on my email after his old Hotmail got jacked, and I kept saying it was overkill for a guy whose bank account mostly funds mulch and chainsaw chains. Then last month I got a $40 charge from a gas station in Tulsa I have never been to, and while I was on the phone with my bank the whole time it hit me that the password I used there got leaked in some breach two years back. Has anyone had luck getting the older folks in their family to actually turn it on, or do you just set it up on their phone yourself when they are not looking?
