My dentist in Boise told me her office got hit by ransomware, and it changed how I set up my parents' router
I was getting a crown done a couple weeks back and she mentioned their whole patient system got locked up for 11 days last year. She said the way in was a phishing email someone opened on a work laptop at home, and it cost them close to $40k to get back running. That made me finally sit down and put my parents' router on a guest network with the default admin password changed. I also turned off remote access on their router since they never use it anyway. Anyone else had a small business or doctor's office tell you a story like that? Curious what the actual weak point usually turns out to be.
