Kept hearing the moon landing was faked on a 1997 VHS tape, so I finally checked the shadows myself
Back in high school in 1997 a buddy handed me a bootleg VHS called something like "Conspiracy of the Century" that swore the Apollo landings were shot in a Nevada hangar. I believed the whole thing for almost 20 years, mainly because the narrator kept saying the shadows did not line up. Then a guy on our bowling team who works at the planetarium told me to just go outside at night with a flashlight and a rock and see if my own shadow ever runs the same way as the sun's. I did it on my driveway in March, and of course the shadow pointed the opposite way from the light source, same as the old NASA photos everybody complains about. I also pulled up the actual Hasselblad frames at 3 different sun angles and the math on the astronaut visor reflections actually adds up. Now I want to know which one of these old tapes got you, and what finally made it click that it was junk?
