TIL my community garden plot hit 100 pounds of tomatoes and I didn't believe the scale
I started keeping a simple log on my phone back in April, just weighing whatever I picked at the plot in Riverside. Last Saturday the running total came to 100.4 pounds and I honestly thought the scale was broken, since I only have four plants. A neighbor two plots over grows the same variety and said she usually gets about 30 pounds a plant, so my number was not as crazy as it felt. I think the difference is I stopped pruning suckers after the first month, which goes against what most guides tell you. Has anyone else tracked their plot yield for a full season, and did topping the plants actually help or hurt you?
