Tired of hearing everyone blame injectors for hard starts on 7.3s
I keep seeing guys online saying bad injectors cause hard starting on cold mornings. More often than not it's the glow plug relay or the harness going bad at the valve cover gasket. I swapped a full set of injectors on a 2000 F-350 last winter and the problem was a chafed wire under the cover. Anyone else check the simple stuff first before dropping cash on injectors?

Did you end up checking the harness before you pulled the injectors? I had a friend last year chasing a miss on his 99 and it turned out to be a corroded pin in the connector, not the injector itself.

2000 F-350, huh? Bet that was a 7.3. The UVCH harness is always the first thing I check on those. Injectors are almost never the real problem on a cold start.
