Gallery wall versus single large print, my living room made the call

I hung 9 small frames in a grid for two years and it always felt busy. Swapped to one 40 inch canvas last month and suddenly the room breathes. Anyone else find that a single bold piece shows your style better than a cluster?

Oh wow, I have to say I land on the other side of this one. My place has a mix up on the wall, maybe seven or eight frames with photos and a couple of small prints, and every time I think about pulling it all down for one big canvas, I chicken out. The thing is, when people walk in, they always drift over to the wall and start asking about each picture, like where that one was taken or who that is in the old shot, and that little moment is my favorite part of having folks over. One giant piece is clean, sure, but it kind of ends the chat before it starts, you know? Sounds like your room needed the calm though, so glad it worked out for you.
