Overheard a coworker say coworking spaces are dead, got me thinking about the flip side

Last Thursday at a coffee shop in Chiang Mai, a guy on a Zoom call told his client that coworking memberships are a waste of money now that everyone works from home. I get that argument, some places charge $200 a month for a desk and a shared fridge. But I've been bouncing between cafes for 6 months and my back hates me, plus the wifi drops every time it rains. So is the real value of a coworking space just the structure and human contact, or are we all clinging to a pre-pandemic habit that's overpriced? Anyone else torn between saving cash and saving your posture?

bouncing between cafes for 6 months and my back hates me" is literally me right now. I spent three weeks on a barstool at a coffee shop and felt 80 years old by the end of it. The human contact thing is real too, I cancelled my membership last year to save money and ended up spending more on overpriced lattes just so I wouldn't feel like a hermit. Turns out paying for a desk is cheaper than paying for the illusion of being around people.
