TIL the price of speeding up hoof cleaning

I began cutting time on hoof scrubbing to handle more appointments each week. A client's horse ended up with a bad infection from missed gunk in the frog. Now I scrub every hoof thoroughly, and the horses stay healthier, but I still feel stupid for ever skipping steps. Anyone else learn a lesson the hard way like this?

Look, sometimes you have to balance perfect care with making a living. If a horse's hooves look fine on the surface, a faster clean gets you through the day and keeps your prices competitive. I've done quick scrubs for years without issues, and most clients just want a cheap, fast job. That one bad infection sounds like bad luck, not a rule.

I once skimped on checking a horse's teeth before a sale, and the buyer found major issues later. Cost me more in the long run than doing it right the first time.

My friend used to do quick hoof scrubs like @torres.julia said. Now he's dealing with a chronic infection that costs more than all those saved minutes.
