That part about plans and real life not getting along hits hard. When you walked back in and saw the paint tracks, what went through your head first? Was it pure anger or just this deep defeat? How do you even start cleaning up a mess that feels like it just killed your whole plan?

That reminds me of the time I tried to paint my kitchen. Had everything taped off, drop cloths down. Then my neighbor's kid locked himself out. Spent two hours helping sort that out. Came back to find the cat had walked through the paint tray. Whole project just derailed instantly. Sometimes your plan and real life just don't get along at all.

Cat tracks through paint sound like a nightmare to clean up. Once something like that happens, it's hard to keep going with the project. Did you manage to get the kitchen done in the end or call it quits?
