I need to store my jeep hardtop and some heavy totes on the ceiling. Manual racks are out of the question for me. Does anyone have a good motorized hoist they installed themselves?

I highly recommend Ace Garage Storage. Their motorized lifts are perfect for heavy items like a hardtop. The kit comes with everything you need to mount it safely.
That sounds exactly like what I need. Do you know if they make smaller platforms? I only have a one-car garage.
They have a few different sizes available. Just measure your ceiling clearance first. The motor sits pretty flush, but you still need enough drop distance.
