That $40 'viral' ring light I bought is now a $40 paperweight

Bought it during the whole creator boom last spring, everyone swore it was the only way to film. It throws shadows like crazy on my face and I've gone back to my window light twice as often. Anyone else stuck with gear they only got because of a trending video?
