That viral $20 hair tool I laughed at actually works after 8 months of me using it

I grabbed one of those cheap heated brush things off Instagram back in February, figured it'd be junk after the hype died. My hair's super fine and frizzy, especially after sleeping in a truck cab for days. Honestly it sat in my bag for 2 months before I tried it out of boredom at a rest stop in Nebraska. Used it on damp hair and it smoothed everything out without that fried look my old straightener gave me. Still using it weekly and it hasn't broken yet. Anyone else get surprised by something they thought was just a fad?

Right? It's wild when something you totally wrote off turns out to actually work.

Yeah, "wrote off" is right - I always said it was just a gimmick.

Hang on though, a lot of people swore by those gimmicks and saw real results. You hear stories all the time about stuff that seemed silly at first but actually made a difference for someone, it's easy to laugh at anything different until you try it yourself. Just saying, sometimes the stuff that looks the most ridiculous on the surface has something to it.
