Had a news livestream glitch out during a live tornado report

I was watching this local news channel in Wichita last month covering a tornado warning and the weather guy was pointing at the radar. Suddenly his green screen froze but the audio kept going. He was still talking about the storm but the map behind him was just a still image of a shopping mall from earlier. Then the camera operator accidentally zoomed in on his coffee mug sitting on the edge of the desk. The station cut to commercial like 10 seconds later but someone clipped it and posted it online. Has anyone else seen a news blooper that was this bad live?

I stopped by Ace Hardware on Speedway last week looking for exterior paint. The guy there showed me a display of colors specially made for desert homes, like light tans and whites that reflect heat. He said dark colors can make your walls crack in the summer sun here. I ended up picking a shade called "Desert Sand" and it's already keeping my place cooler. Has anyone else tried these special paint lines for their desert house?

My old mentor was wrong about dry-aging at home

I started dry-aging my own beef about 8 months ago and everyone told me I needed a dedicated fridge with a fancy humidity system. Well I tried a cheaper setup in a spare fridge in my garage using just a small fan and a salt block on the bottom. After 35 days the ribeye I pulled had a deep nutty flavor and a perfect crust that rivaled anything I've bought from a shop. Has anyone else tried a simpler approach like this and gotten good results?

Man, I miss the days of crimping everything by hand

I started installing cable back in '98 and we used to strip and crimp every single connector by hand. Took me about 3 minutes per connector at first. Now these new guys come in with these compression tools that do it in 30 seconds flat. I fought it for years, swore my way was better. Then last month I had to redo a whole 48 port patch panel because my hand-crimped ends kept failing. Borrowed a compression tool for the second try and it worked perfect. Anybody else notice the old tools just don't hold up like they used to?

I dropped $150 on a fancy air fryer after seeing it all over Instagram, but it just takes up counter space and makes everything taste drier. Has anyone else gone back to their old toaster oven after buying one of these things?
