The $200 drone course that got me banned from my own neighborhood feed
Last spring I paid for a viral online course promising drone photography fame. The instructor, a guy named Marcus from Phoenix, swore posting every clip to local Facebook groups was the only way to grow. Within 3 weeks I'd spammed 14 groups and got reported so many times the admins blocked me permanently. Now my channel sits at 47 subscribers and nobody in my town will even wave at my drone. Has anyone else been burned by following a big creator's advice that only works for them?

Hold on, I see it a little different. Marcus gave you a tactic that works when you already have a following or something really unique to show, but it falls flat for a beginner. The real issue is you followed the plan word for word instead of adapting it to your own town and your own skill level. People can smell spam from a mile away, and posting your drone shots to every single group without building any real connection first is just gonna get you blocked. I've seen guys in my area post once a week in just the one local photography group, add a little story about what they shot, and they get way more engagement than someone dumping clips everywhere. The course got you banned because you were using a shotgun when you needed a fishing rod, not because the advice was totally garbage.
