I thought AI art was fine until I watched a guy at a Columbus comic con sell 200 prints of a knight he never drew
That Tuesday I sat at my own table for 9 hours and sold 11 prints while he moved stacks of glossy 18x24s for $15 each, so now I'm stuck wondering if small shows are even worth booking anymore, and does anyone here still do conventions or did you all jump to online only?
Imagine hauling your portfolio and your folding chair for 9 hours just to get out-sold by a guy with a printer and a dream. Small shows still have real fans though, some people actually want to shake the hand of the person who made the thing. Might be worth picking shows with strict no-AI rules and smaller crowds that came for the art.
