Basket latch busted mid-shake, chicken went everywhere

Last Tuesday I was making a batch of wings in my air fryer, shaking the basket like I always do around the 12 minute mark. The little plastic latch on the handle just snapped clean off, and the whole basket swung open, dumping about 6 wings straight onto the counter and floor. My dog got two before I could grab him, which was honestly the best part of that whole disaster. I ended up salvaging the rest with tongs and finishing them in the oven at 425 because I was too hungry to wait. Never thought that tiny latch would be the weak point, but now I'm shopping for a replacement basket that actually has a metal clip system. Has anyone else had a handle or latch fail on their unit, and did you find a brand that holds up better? I'm trying to decide if I should just buy a new air fryer or stick with a replacement part.
