Shoutout to the guy at the farmer's market who told me to air fry broccoli
I was at the downtown farmer's market last Saturday grabbing some produce and this older dude saw me buying a bunch of broccoli. He just randomly said 'you know that thing cooks better in an air fryer than any oven ever could right?' I laughed it off but tried it when I got home. Tossed the florets in some olive oil salt and pepper then hit 375 for like 8 minutes with a shake halfway through. Man they came out crispy on the edges but still tender inside way better than my usual steamed mush. I've been eating broccoli like 3 times a week now which is insane for me. Anybody else have a random stranger give you a game changing air fryer tip?

Broccoli being life changing feels a little dramatic but you do you.

The "life changing" part might be a stretch, but you're underselling it big time. Roast it with some olive oil and garlic at 400 degrees until the edges are crispy and it's a totally different vegetable from the steamed mush most people eat. I used to hate it too until I figured out that cooking method. Plus it's got that weird chemical in it that actually helps your liver process stuff better. Not saying it'll change your life, but it's way better than you're giving it credit for.

Take it from someone who's ruined more pans of broccoli than I care to admit, you gotta get the oil hot before you even put the florets in. @emma_garcia you're not wrong about the dramatic bit, but once you taste it with crispy edges and a little lemon juice after roasting, you'll see what the hype is about. That liver thing is sulphoraphane or something like that, it's legit. Just don't overcook it, pull it when the stems still have some crunch.
