Just clocked 1,200 covers in a single Friday night shift and my feet are still screaming three days later

I looked at the ticket machine at 9 p.m. and saw we'd already passed 1,000, which is fifty more than our busiest night last year, and the expo guy just shrugged like that's normal, so has anyone else seen their numbers jump that much without warning?

Found a bad capacitor on a 10 year old Samsung TV by just listening for the buzz

My neighbor was about to toss a 55 inch Samsung from 2014 because it wouldn't turn on, so I took the back off, heard a faint high pitched whine near the power supply, replaced three swollen capacitors for $3.50 total at a surplus store in Akron, and it fired right up has anyone else had luck tracking down issues by sound alone?

Had a wiring diagram error in Seattle that cost me 3 hours on site

The prints showed a pin 11 connection on the MFD but it was actually pin 22, and the senior tech just laughed and said welcome to Boeing field. Anyone else run into bad print revisions that waste your whole morning?

Shoutout to the laser level that survived a 6 foot fall onto concrete

Last Tuesday I was setting up a laser level on a job site in Austin and my ladder slipped. That thing dropped straight down 6 feet onto a concrete slab. I picked it up expecting to see a cracked casing or a dead beam, but it still projected a perfect line. My coworker said 'no way, that thing is toast' but we used it all day and it never drifted. I don't even want to know how much a replacement would cost right now. Have any of you guys had a tool that just refused to die?

Finally got my first "Hello World" to print after 3 nights of frustration

Kept typing print('hello world') and getting syntax errors because I was using single quotes inside curly braces by accident. Took a screenshot and posted it on a Discord help channel where someone pointed it out in 10 seconds... anyone else have a tiny typo that wasted hours?

That $40 'AI detection' tool flagged my college essay as bot-written

I spent $40 on this popular AI checker to run my history paper through before submitting it. The tool said it was 87% AI generated even though I wrote every word myself at 2 AM in the library. I freaked out and rewrote the whole thing from scratch, only to find out the professor doesn't even use those tools. Has anyone else had a false positive from one of these checkers cost them time?

TIL I was deboning chicken thighs all wrong for 8 years

I used to just stab around the bone and hope for the best, leaving half the meat still attached. Then last month my buddy Dave from the shop in Denver showed me how to follow the bone with the tip of my knife. He said 'stop fighting it, just let the blade hug the bone.' Now I get a clean thigh in like 20 seconds flat. Any of you guys have that one cut you figured out way later than you should have?

Debate: injector swap on a 7.3 should take 4 hours max but mine took 16 after snapping a bolt

Was I just unlucky with that rusted #8 glow plug hole or should I have just pulled the whole head like my buddy said from the start, what's your cutoff for calling it quits and going bigger?

Appreciation post: That guy who argued the "Cinnamon Challenge" was good for you

I overheard someone at a coffee shop in Austin last month swear the cinnamon challenge was actually a great respiratory cleanse and people just did it wrong. He said he did it 15 times in college and never coughed once because he used a special breathing technique. But come on, that viral trend from 2012 sent hundreds of kids to the ER for lung damage, not lung health. Has anyone else run into someone defending a dangerous old fad like it was actually misunderstood?
