Why does nobody talk about how book club picks get hijacked by whoever talks loudest?
When I joined a club at the library in Reno two years ago, we voted on books by dropping slips in a jar and it actually worked. Now the same group just goes with whatever Diane suggests because she talks over everyone, and our pick for March was some 700 page doorstop nobody finished. We need a better way to decide, maybe ranked choice or a blind draw. Has any other club fixed this without making it feel like a courtroom?
