Just realized the light gun signals at my local Class D airport are still using 1940s tech, is that a problem?
Flew into a small field near Omaha last month and the tower lost radios, so they broke out the light gun. Half the pilots I know say it is a solid backup, but the other half say it is outdated and we should all have backup comms instead. What do you guys think, keep the lights or push for something new?
