Rant: chasing torque spec numbers is overrated, my 87th annual inspection taught me that

Everyone at the shop swears by the book, but after 87 annuals on the same Cessna 172 out of Peoria I can feel a loose fastener before the wrench even clicks. Anybody else trust their hands more than the chart, or am I the odd one out?
