Shoutout to the old timer at the hangar who caught my safety wire twist count
I was doing safety wire on a brake caliper bolt at our shop in Bakersfield and thought my twists looked clean. A guy with 30 plus years on the floor walked by and said "count your twists per inch, son, six to eight or it's just jewelry." I checked the AC 43.13-1B guide that night and he was right, I had been running mine way too loose for who knows how long. Spent the next hour redoing three bolts and they finally looked like the textbook photos. How do you all keep your twist count even on short runs where your pliers barely fit?
