Used to think a torque wrench was a torque wrench until I tried a CDI on a 737 wheel bolt
Borrowed my buddy's CDI 1503 after snapping two bolts with my Craftsman on a main gear hub and the CDI clicked perfect every time at 180 ft-lbs, so now I'm saving up for one but has anyone else had bad luck with the cheaper digital ones clicking way too early?

Are we really gonna act like a torque wrench on a wheel bolt is a life or death precision instrument? lol. I mean yeah it sucks you snapped some bolts but that couldve been a worn out Craftsman or just bad luck with the bolt itself. The CDI is nice but I've seen guys use the same cheap digital for years on aircraft and not have issues. Calibration is the real deal not just the brand. So maybe your buddy keeps his CDI in a padded case and your Craftsman got knocked around the toolbox. That matters way more than the price tag most of the time.

My Craftsman never gave me early clicks though, might be a calibration thing.
