Appreciation post: hit install number 1,500 last Tuesday and it got me thinking
Started pulling wire back in 1998 and did my 1,500th panel install last Tuesday, a little ranch house out in Fresno. First one I ever did was a hardwired box with a keypad that had actual physical buttons, and you could hear the relay click from the kitchen. Now everything is touchscreen and talks to your phone, which is cool, but I kind of miss when the job was just wire, contacts, and a good battery. Back then I could do a full house in a day, now half my time goes to walking folks through the app before I even mount the siren. Number surprised me too, I figured I was closer to 1,000, guess the busy years blur together lol. Any of you old timers actually track your total installs, or am I the only nerd with a notebook?
