Just dropped $90 on a wire stretcher tool and thought it was a joke until yesterday
I was wiring up a three-story house in Austin and kept fighting with cable that was too short to reach the panel. Buddy told me to try a wire stretcher from the supply house, figured he was messing with me. Cost me $90 and it actually worked like magic on a tight pull through conduit. Anyone else got a tool they thought was a gimmick but ended up using all the time?

Wire stretcher is actually for making cables longer, not pulling them through conduit.

Idk, that's kind of how a lot of things work in trades - something sounds like it does one thing but the name is actually describing a different part of the process. It's like how a "pipe wrench" isn't really for pipes, or how a "speed square" doesn't make you go faster.

Wait, so @nelson.wren is saying it actually stretches the wire permanently? That makes more sense now, I figured it was just a tension puller with a fancy name.
