Rant: I wired 14 door contacts backwards because I trusted the zone list
Installed a 16 zone panel in a strip mall off Route 9 last Tuesday and every single door contact read open at the keypad. Took me two hours of walking loops with a meter before I noticed the zone list the office handed me had zone 1 and zone 16 flipped. I'd been trusting that sheet for months on other jobs and never once checked it against the actual wire pull. The panel was fine, my crimps were fine, I was just reading the wrong terminals the whole time. Now I tone every zone before I land it, which adds maybe 20 minutes but beats pulling my hair out in a hot mech room. Any of you ever get a hand-drawn zone map from a GC that was just plain wrong?
