Just realized my pinned post killed my engagement for 2 months straight

I run a small niche account about vintage motorcycle restoration, about 4k followers. Last month I pinned an old post that did well at the time, thinking it'd help new visitors. Turns out the algorithm basically stopped pushing my new stuff because it saw the pinned content as my 'primary' signal. My reach dropped from around 800 views per post to like 120. I unpinned it Tuesday and already seeing normal numbers again. Has anyone else had a single pinned post mess with their whole feed visibility like that?

Oh man that sounds so frustrating, two whole months of watching your numbers tank and not knowing why would drive me nuts. I had a similar thing happen on a smaller scale with a car detailing page I help run, pinned a before/after that popped off and my next few posts got buried. The fix for us was the same as yours, unpinned it and things bounced back within a week or so. Good call catching it, a lot of people just assume the algorithm hates them now and never figure out the pinned post was the problem.
