Found out Dragon Ball Z had 291 episodes and I watched maybe 80 of them as a kid
I was on the Dragon Ball wiki page last week and saw the original DBZ run was 291 episodes across 9 years. Somehow I thought it was way shorter because I only caught the Frieza and Cell sagas on Cartoon Network back in the day. 291 episodes is like 4 full days of straight watching, which explains why my cousin in Fresno never finished it either. How many episodes did you actually sit through before you tapped out?

The "291 episodes across 9 years" part is what gets me, because the show was basically built to be watched once a week with a ton of filler padding it out. A single fight like Goku vs Frieza dragged on for like 20 episodes because they had to stall until the manga got ahead, so a kid catching reruns was never gonna see the whole thing. That's why everyone remembers the big moments but not the actual episode count. I probably sat through 150 or so and half of those were Gohan crying or Krillin getting wrecked lol.
