Hot take: the 90s anime look is overrated and I don't miss it
Every time someone says modern anime lost its soul I bring up trying to actually rewatch some 90s classics last month and the panning stills and 4 minute recaps drove me nuts. It took me 3 weeks to get through 26 episodes of a show I loved at 14 because I kept falling asleep. Am I the only one who thinks the old style gets a free pass just because of nostalgia?

The 4 minute recaps alone would kill me now. I tried rewatching one of my old favorites and those endless panning shots over a still frame had me checking my phone every 30 seconds.
