Just realized my old fansubs were better than the official Crunchyroll subs for the same show
For the first 8 episodes of a mecha series I watched on a friend's old hard drive, the subs read like actual dialogue and jokes landed. I switched to the official stream in episode 9 last weekend and the difference is huge: names are different, honorifics are gone, and one scene that was a tense argument now reads like a news report. Anyone know why the official sub scripts changed so much between the fan version and the retail one?
