Got food poisoning at a wedding in Phoenix and now I ask one question before every buffet
Two hours after the reception I was sick in the hotel bathroom at 2am, and I traced it back to the potato salad that sat out in 95 degree heat all afternoon. Now at any event with a buffet I just ask the host how long the food has been sitting out, and people look at me like I'm being rude. Anyone else have a rule like this after a bad night somewhere?

That 2am hotel bathroom misery is no joke, sorry you went through that. Potato salad in 95 degree heat is basically a biohazard, so asking about sit time is just smart, not rude.
