I walked through the farmers market in Madison last Saturday and counted 11 booths selling the exact same salsa
I always thought local markets were full of variety until I actually started paying attention. Eleven booths, and eight of them had the same tomato cilantro blend in the same jars, just with different labels glued on. I asked one vendor where she got her recipe and she laughed and said her cousin sells the base to half the row. Now I want to know if this is normal everywhere or just a Madison thing, because I felt kind of dumb for never noticing before. Has anyone else clocked repeats like this at their local market?
