It took a 4 AM airport layover in Dallas to realize my packing method was backwards

I always rolled clothes tight to save space, but when TSA flagged my carry-on for the third time in one month, a agent finally told me folding flat lets bag scanners see what's underneath, has anyone else been doing this wrong for years?

Hated that rolling method for years, thought I was a packing genius. First time I folded flat, I found stuff in my bag I forgot I even packed, like an old charger and a crumpled receipt. TSA hasn't given me a second look since I switched, it's wild how much easier it is for them to see everything. My wife still rolls her stuff and gets pulled aside all the time, I keep telling her to just lay it out flat. It's such a simple fix that makes a huge difference, especially for those early morning flights when you're already half asleep.
