Rant: drove 2 hours to a dark sky spot near Bend and my tracking mount died 20 minutes in
Last Saturday I loaded up the car and drove out past Bend to a spot with almost no light pollution, got everything set up, and about 20 shots into my sequence the mount just stopped tracking, so every frame after that was trails. I ended up just pulling the camera off and doing wide untracked shots of the Milky Way at 15 seconds and 3200 ISO, which honestly came out better than I expected. Has anyone else had a mount quit on them mid-session, and is there a fix short of sending it in for service?
