Looking at dig site records from the 80s shows a clear shift

I found some field notes from an old Mesopotamia project in my uncle's attic. Everything was drawn by hand on paper, but now teams use digital scans and apps. Do you miss the slower, hands-on way of doing things, or is the new tech just better?
