PSA: That viral Miley Cyrus 'no filter' gym selfie from last year vs. her Coachella appearance this month

I compared side by side the jawline and cheekbone structure and it's not just weight loss or angles, she clearly got buccal fat removal and maybe a chin implant because the bone shadow under her right cheek is completely different now, has anyone else noticed that shift in facial structure?

Overheard some guy at a gear shop bragging about doing 40 miles a day on the PCT with a 12 pound base weight

I mean that just sounds like a recipe for injury and no time to actually enjoy the scenery. Has anyone else run into these ultralight speed demons who make you feel lazy for taking a zero day in town?

The gate hinge mounting mistake I keep seeing on jobs in Austin

Over the last 6 months I've fixed 4 gates around Austin where the homeowner or a handyman mounted the hinges directly into the end grain of the post instead of into the face. On a 6 foot wood gate that's a lot of weight hanging on screws that are basically pulling straight out. I can usually tell before I even get out of my truck because the gate will be dragging on the ground or the top hinge is pulling away from the post. Has anyone else run into this or found a good way to talk people out of doing it before they finish the job?

Shoutout to that tube bevel that took me 4 hours when it should have been 90 minutes

I was working on a 12 inch schedule 80 pipe down at the Port of Houston last Tuesday. Got the beveling machine set up, chain tension felt good, but the cut kept walking off center every time I checked it with the gauge. After chasing it for 3 hours and burning through 2 wheels, I realized the saddle wasn't seated flat because there was a tiny weld bead right where the chain sat. Ground it down in 10 minutes and finished the bevel in 30. Anyone else ever fight a setup problem for way too long before finding something stupid like that?

Tried a 6-inch cutterhead on a tight river bend near Baton Rouge

I swapped to a smaller cutterhead for a narrow section of the Mississippi last month, thinking it'd save time. Instead, it clogged up twice in the first hour because the material was just too dense. Learned that a 6-inch head needs looser stuff to really work, otherwise you're just digging yourself a headache. Anyone else run into this with different cutter sizes?

That Logan Paul apology video from 2018 - does anyone actually buy the second one?

I remember watching his first video about the Japan forest and thinking wow this is terrible. Then the second one came out where he sat in that room alone with no music. My friend swears he saw real tears but I just see a guy who got caught. What was the tell for you all that proved it was fake or real? I keep going back and forth.

Compared cheap motel vs. hostel in Nashville last month and the hostel won by a mile

The motel had roaches and a busted AC while the hostel gave me a clean bed, free breakfast, and a guy who knew the best free music spots for $35 a night less, so why do people still book motels?

That electric smoker I bought failed mid-brisket at 3AM

Was doing an overnight smoke on a 14 pound brisket at my buddy's place near Austin. The Masterbuilt digital controller just went blank around 2:30AM, temp dropped from 225 to 140 in like 20 minutes. I had to finish it in his kitchen oven with a probe alarm set. Has anyone else had a controller die on them like that or did I just get a lemon?

That rope climbing technique I dismissed for 2 years actually saved my back

I used to think the footlock method was just showy stuff for tree climbing comps. But last fall I had a big white oak in Charlotte with a ton of deadwood high up, and my knees were killing me from spurring. A buddy talked me into trying a Blake's hitch with a simple footlock setup, and I got up 40 feet in under 3 minutes without any spikes digging in. My lower back felt way less wrecked at the end of the day, and I wasn't sore the next morning. Has anyone else had a climbing trick they avoided that turned out to be a game changer for the body long term?
