County tax assessor just valued my house 18% higher than I bought it for in March
Bought a 3 bed 2 bath ranch in Decatur back in March for $315k. Opened my tax assessment notice yesterday and they've got it at $372k. That's before I even finished the kitchen reno I'm doing myself. I know Fulton County does the three year cycle thing, but this jump feels like they're just guessing based on one comp down the street that sold way over list. Anyone actually fought their assessment with the Board of Equalization and won, or is it a waste of a Thursday morning?
