My neighbor told me to pressure wash my roof. Big mistake.
Old guy next door said it'd save me $500 if I just rented a washer and did it myself. I spent last Saturday up there blasting away what I thought was moss and grime. Now I've got a leak in my living room ceiling and a roofer quoted me $1,200 to fix the shingles I ruined. Anyone else get burned by bad home maintenance advice from a neighbor?

Low pressure or bust. Blew my own gutters off doing that.

Well sure but your neighbor didn't tell you to use a jet blaster at full power did he.
