Old timer told me to stop sanding between clear coats, he was dead right

Buddy at the shop in Cleveland swore wet sanding with 2000 grit before final clear would leave hazing, and I thought he was full of it. Tried his way on a pearl job last month and the finish laid down glassy with zero buff time, anyone else get burned by over-sanding?

Did your buddy ever mention how long he waits between coats? I had a friend who did a candy red on his Harley and he swore the same thing, but he also rushed the flash time. He ended up with solvent pop so bad it looked like the tank had acne, took him two weekends to fix it. So yeah, over-sanding is real, but under-waiting is just as sneaky.
