Serious question, I stopped wet sanding before buffing and the shop owner in Dayton pulled me aside
I always thought you had to wet sand the whole panel before buffing, but last month I tried just hitting the bad spots by hand with 1500 and buffed straight over the rest, and it came out cleaner than my usual full pass. Anyone else skip the full wet sand, or did I just get lucky on a white truck where flaws hide easy?

Man, I heard a guy on a bodyshop podcast say the same thing. He said on solid colors especially white and black, guys get away with spot sanding way more than they admit, but on metallics the flake lays different where you didn't touch it and it shows under certain light. So yeah, part of it might be the white truck working in your favor. If it looks good in the sun from a few angles, I'd say run with it.
