Vent: found out my go-to shop towel roll has 60 sheets, not 80, and I've been budgeting wrong for 6 months
So I was restocking my garage cabinet last week and grabbed a roll of the blue shop towels I always buy from the auto parts place on Route 9. I happened to flip the pack over and saw it says 60 sheets right there in small print. I swear the old packs used to say 80, so I went back through my receipts and yep, I've bought 14 rolls since January thinking I was getting 80 each time. That's roughly 280 sheets I thought I had that never existed. I use these for checking trans fluid, wiping dipsticks, cleaning battery terminals, all that basic stuff. The thing is the price didn't drop when the count did, so I've basically been paying the same for 25 percent less towel. Called the store and the guy just laughed and said the company changed the count back in the spring. Anyone else notice stuff like this shrinking on them? And if you've got a brand that still gives you a real count for the money, I'm all ears.
Man, this shrink ray thing is everywhere now, snacks, soap, even paper towels got hit. They just quietly drop the count and hope nobody checks the fine print, then act like it's no big deal when you call it out. Half the stuff I buy feels like it's 20 percent less than it was two years ago but somehow costs more.
