Warning: my dyno guy in Reno said to quit tuning by ear on the 2 stroke, and my piston ring agreed 3 tanks later
I ignored his 'get a $30 EGT gauge' advice for a month until I holed a piston at 3,200 feet in the Sierra, and now I log temps before I touch jetting, so what cheap gauge setup do you guys actually trust for single cylinder stuff?

Check your plug color too, EGT alone can lie at altitude.
